St. Michael Parish Picnic
Due to a scheduling conflict, the annual parish picnic has been rescheduled as follows:
Date: October 8, 2023
Time: 12:00 p.m. Report at 11:30 a.m.
Where: Hudson Elks Picnic Grounds
(behind the Elks Hall on Brigham Street in Hudson).
Uniform: Wear your Navy Blue K of C Polo shirt and Baseball cap, and bring your Navy jacket too in case it’s cool.
Your benevolent Grand Knight will allow you to sneak away for a hamburger, etc.
Note: This year, there will be no outdoor Mass. Masses will occur at the regular schedule at the church.
Here’s what we need:
Traffic Cops: When people start arriving, we will have a couple guys at the rear of the Elks parking lot directing people into the picnic grounds to park on the grass. Another will stand on the driveway by the pavilion to safely cross the pedestrians over the driveway. A third will point people to the two guys in the field who will direct people into parking spaces. Once we get everybody parked, we can disperse.
Ushers and General Helpers: Because of the changes to the format this year, after we get everybody parked, we will provide general help where needed. For example, we will probably be in charge of calling people up to the food line by table to avoid a mad rush.
Table Staffers: We will have a table set up in the Ministry Exhibition area with membership literature. Just stand around, answer questions about the K of C, and make friends. This has been a very effective method of finding new members. This year we will also sell Tootsie Rolls and collect donations.
