SOMA runs this event in four locations around the Commonwealth during the February School Vacation week. The Central Mass event is the biggest and had over 75 “plungers” many from police, fire and public safety organizations who had sponsorship for fundraising. The Marlborough and Northborough police were well represented, and the Worcester County Sheriff’s had several father-son and father-daughter plunge teams. |
It was 9 degrees when we arrived to start setting up. It was fun to be a part of this event which showed great community leadership and respect for breaking down barriers for people with disabilities and inclusion. It was especially fun to be assigned an indoor job.
