March Madness Final
It was a dead heat going into the finals with Liz Cronin and Andy Tivnan tied neck and neck at 76 points. But because everybody in the hunt had picked Duke or Gonzaga to win, nobody had a horse in the race. Exciting as it was — the game went into overtime — the bracket pool was decided by the tie breaker rule: the cumulative point score. The final score was Virginia 85 – Texas Tech 77, total: 162 points. Andy Tivnan edged out Liz Cronin with his point guess of 152 points over 137.
A tie for third place was also decided by Mike Tremblay’s dead-on guess of 162 pushing Mike Wells out of the money.
