In Memoriam: John “Jack” E. Duffin Jr.
Council #81 is saddened to announce the passing of our brother, Jack Duffin, 88.
Jack passed away on July 30, 2023 at his retirement home in Hampton, NH.
Jack took his first degree in April, 1956, more than 67 years ago, and was a Third Degree and Honorary Life Member of Council #81.
Jack was born in Dorchester and graduated from Roxbury Memorial School. After a tour in the U.S. Marines, Jack excelled in the baking industry, well known for representing several major bakery supply companies, including the Middlebee Red Pail Filling Company in South Boston, and later the Pillsbury Flour and Sugar Division in Framingham. He left the world selling baking products and took up his passion opening “Duffin’s Muffins” with shops in Marlborough, Clinton, and Worcester.
Jack and his wife Peg were avid dancers and won several awards. Jack and Peg were always well known volunteers at their church, including Immaculate Conception before they retired to New Hampshire.
Jack is survived by his wife Peg, and eight children, three of whom still reside in Marlborough.
Jack’s funeral was celebrated at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Hampton, NH on August 8th.
Jack’s remains will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 11:00 a.m. His wife Peg has reached out to invite all the Knights who knew him.
