End of Fraternal Year 2017-2018
Brother Knights:
It has been a pleasure serving as your District Deputy for a second year, and I look forward to starting year #3 on July 1. As a member of Council #81, not just your DD, I find that it is a pleasure to work with each of you on a daily, and/or monthly basis. What more could one ask for? The right balance of energy, commitment, and faith, drives each of us to where we are currently, and sets a path forward for what the future of the council will look like.
I invite you to take part in an incredible journey of faith, friendship, and fun, as we continue to mold the framework of what we have been building upon. There are no bounds that we cannot not achieve, and the sky is the limit as to how far we want our council to go. Let’s continue to build an alliance with our local friends, like the Greek Church right next to IC Parish, the Congregational Church down the street, and our local businesses, priests, and veterans. Let us also help the children in the community, as we can also learn so much from them, just as much as they can learn from us. Their ideas are strong, their imagination endless, and their faith longing for nourishment. We, as Knights of Columbus, have the formula, so let’s put it to use.
I wish everyone a blessed and safe summer, however, just because we do not meet in the summer with our business meetings, we must continue to strive for success with membership, put our faith into action, and continue the vision that the Venerable Fr. Michael J. McGivney started, but never got to see fully into motion.
Vivat Jesus!
Mike Gibson, DD
